PSU farmers market

First day of spring officially and a perfect day for the farmers
market at PSU. Heard it's on the Top 10 list for best in the country.
That's right. Country. Not county. Country.

Petanque at the park

New day new discovery. Petanque, the French Bachi Ball, is alive and
well at Westmoreland Park, complete with great views of the duck pond
and blooming trees. Wednesday and Sunday lunchtime is when they get
their game on. No better time of year than now.

Mt hood from post office

It looks a lot bigger in person.

Daphne is out already

Walking around the hood, I keep smelling Daphne long before I come
across the plant. Smells so gorgeous! And seems to be everywhere. So
my h nicer than the urine-smelling bushes! Someone told me it was Jasmine, but it's not.

The famous Portland food carts you've heard so much about

Too hungry to wait in a restaurant. Too cheap too tip. On a budget.
Food carts are good options. I thought $4-5 was a bit high for a
little sandwich, but when I saw it, I thought, dang that looks good.
Then I ate it and thought "I'm coming back here." good stuff. The
Fuego cart at Alberta and 23rd or so. Yum. Try the Aero - veggie was
good, and the chorizo with plantanes was really good.

Camp 18 on the way to cannon beach presented an interesting selection

before getting stale.

Dog town

Sellwood Park. If you don't have a mate in this town, you have a dog.
And if you get a dog, you get a mate.

El palenque special in sellwood

The more starch the merrier, and was it merry. Bit pricey, but awesome
pancakey things filled with cheese and other delights. Nice beans but
not so keen on the veggie tamale. Huge plate of fried bananas not
shown but included. More starch!

Love tat at powells bookstore
